Frequently asked questions about business internet
With shared fiber (Lightspeed CC Basic and Lightspeed CC Premium), you share the total capacity of the uplink with other users. This is very cost-effective and provides excellent performance for everyday office tasks. With dedicated fiber (Lightspeed CC Enterprise), the fiber strand from your office to our backbone is exclusively reserved for your business. Your bandwidth is guaranteed (1:1) and is never affected by other traffic.
Although both connections use a shared uplink, the sharing ratio and the underlying technology differ. Lightspeed CC Basic uses a shared medium based on XGSpon technology with an overbooking ratio of 1:20 and a Best Effort SLA. It is ideal for small businesses that only need to email and surf. Lightspeed CC Premium is specific to campuses with a lower overbooking ratio of 1:5, designed for heavier usage by startups, scale-ups, and SMEs.
Since Wave C's active fiber optic network is already fully operational in the buildings on the Corda Campus, we don't need to lay new cables in most cases. Once approved, we can often get your office online within 1 to 3 business days.
Yes. Especially for Enterprise clients, we can implement a fully redundant connection. This can be via a second, physically separate fiber route or via an alternative backup connection, so your business always stays online in the event of a cable break.
Wave C does not provide standard routers. We apply the principle of free choice of router: you simply connect your own firewall or router to our NTU (Network Terminal Unit). This way you retain full control and flexibility over your own network infrastructure.
Symmetrical means that upload and download speeds are identical. Traditional connections (like cable or VDSL) often have a much slower upload speed. For modern businesses using cloud backups, video calling (Teams/Zoom), and sending large files, a fast upload speed is crucial to prevent delays.
Our network is monitored 24/7 and we guarantee an uptime of 99.9%. In case of any issues, our support team is directly reachable via a direct number — no phone menu or waiting lines — to get an engineer working on it immediately.
No, absolutely not. Although the Corda Campus in Hasselt is our home base, we deliver our high-end business fiber connections (Lightspeed CC Enterprise) on all connected campuses.
Yes. Wave C is an officially recognized BIPT operator and a full member of RIPE. As a result, we are not dependent on third-party infrastructure and manage our own independent network.
